there has never been anything but the camera department for me. when i entered the film industry professionally, the camera captured my imagination right away. that's what movies are: visible stories.
my passion for my work comes from an intense desire to tell good stories - tales about real characters, real situations, real morals.
it's been all uphill with the red one since 2008, when i assisted james burgess on two back-to-back films in eight weeks. the first, "the widow's might," went on the next year to win the top honors at the biggest christian film festival in the world.
my goal as an assistant is to read your mind.
i currently live with my family in a small mennonite town on the outskirts of akron, ohio (home of goodyear rubber). raised in a conservative christian home, i enjoy a diverse range of interests, from ultimate frisbee to music performance to sailing. i am proud to say that i never attended public school, having been homeschooled by my mother all the way through high school.
my bucket list would occupy an entire camera report.
